About me
Maria Monserrat Montoya De Rivera, or Monse, is a dedicated Nutrition Program Associate (NPA) with the University of Missouri Extension Family Nutrition Education Program (FNEP). With 19 years of experience, she specializes in educating rural, English as a second language communities on food resource management and food safety. Monse’s approach emphasizes the multi-generational family and community structures, often delivering programs in participants' homes. She began as a volunteer translator in SNAP-Ed, working alongside her mother, and eventually became an NPA herself, continuing her commitment to community nutrition education.
