About me
Yolanda Peña is the Regional Program Manager for FoodWIse, a community nutrition program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension. Yolanda provides coaching and support to county-based grant-funded Nutrition Coordinators for program plan development, implementation, evaluation, and reporting for SNAP-Ed and EFNEP. She also works collaboratively with the FoodWIse State Coordinator in supporting administrative functions. Yolanda joined the University of Wisconsin-Extension in 2003. She has worked with the Latino community in diverse areas throughout her career. Previous roles include FoodWIse County Coordinator, FoodWIse County Nutrition Educator, and Community Counselor for Lad Lake, a Trauma Informed-Family Focused-Community Based. Yolanda has a bachelor’s degree in Preschool and Family Development from the Santo Tomas University in Bogotá, Colombia, her country of origin, and a master’s degree in Community Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Yolanda is a happy mother of three children and six grandkids most of them are living in Wisconsin as well.
